Position Objective:
Conduct the design and improvement of new and existing pump products and related systems for conformance to customer’s requirements. Recommend design or manufacturing changes necessary to maximize product performance, quality and profitability. Assist in the test lab testing new and existing pump designs. Assist customers in selecting Price Pump products for applications. Provide other technical support, as needed, for special product applications. Work with Engineering Technician to help create and maintain Bills of Materials, 3D models/drawings and other technical documentation.
Specialized Knowledge, Experience and Education
• Experience in servicing mechanical products and/or systems.
• Knowledge of pump mechanical design, pump materials of construction & their application.
• Proficiency in the use of Solidworks (or equivalent) software for 2D and 3D computer modeling pump parts and pump systems.
• Ability to use a PC including but not limited to excel and word programs.
• Experience with a CMM for QC inspections a plus.
• Experience w/Labview or equivalent testing environment Data Acquistion System a plus.
• Produce clear, concise and effective written and verbal communication skills.
• Present ability to plan and work independently and without extensive supervision.
• BS degree in Mechanical Engineering preferred
Position Interfaces With:
Engineering, Manufacturing, Quality, Sales, Marketing, Purchasing and Customer Services.
Primary Responsibilities;
• Conduct 2D & 3D parts and pump system designs using Solidworks.
• Perform all duties needed for Engineering documentation via ECR/ECO’s.
• Creation and maintenance of Bills of Materials and all technical documentation.
• Test pumps/components in test lab environment.
• Assist QC, Assembly and Machine shop departments to maintain and improve existing product lines.
• Assist with the selection of centrifugal and AOD pumps, parts and accessories for customer specified services.
• Perform all other duties required to keep the company moving forward.
