Quality Inspector I

Seastrom Manufacturing is seeking a motivated individual with strong attention to detail to ensure adherence to its quality systems for IS9001, AS9100, and PPAP in a precision manufacturing environment. The Quality Inspector I will perform productions inspections throughout the production process, use precision measuring equipment, review paperwork for accuracy, trouble shoot, and communicate within the department and other departments to produce a final product meeting the customer’s specifications. Consistently follows processes and schedules independently, with periodic interaction with manager and others while following our core values of maintaining relationships in a team environment modeling professionalism, interpersonal skills, problem solving, adaptability, and personal value commitment.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES include the following:
• Read, understand, and interpret engineering drawings and complex blueprints for Stamping, 4-Slide, Auto-Clip, and Davenports.
• Inspect paperwork for complete and accurate information.
• Determine from various sources inspection and customer requirements.
• Inspect products using precision measuring tools.
• Inspect first article/setup and production parts throughout the production process ensuring customer specifications are being met.
• Perform with great attention to detail.
• Meet productivity and quality goals.
• Adapt to changing priorities.
• Add, subtract, multiply, and divide quickly and accurately.
• Apply mechanical knowledge to trouble shoot and problem solve.
• Perform inspection procedures, including Fit Bike Receiving and Assembly.
• Prepare inspection reports.
• Working knowledge of Microsoft computer applications and the ability to learn other software applications.
• Perform appropriate transactions in ERP system efficiently and correctly.
• Comply with ISO/AS9100 standards.

QUALIFICATIONS:

• Must be at least 18 years old.
• Must have computer knowledge and experience.
• High School diploma/GED or equivalent combination of education and experience.
• The ability to read, write and speak the English language with comprehension skills sufficient to understand safety standards and job performance expectations.
• Ability to add, subtract, multiply, and divide in all units of measure, using whole numbers, common fractions, and decimals.
• Ability to interpret instructions which may be furnished in written, oral, diagram or schedule form. Strong problem solving skills.
• While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to sit and stand; use hands to finger, handle, or grab; reach with hands and arms; and talk and hear. The employee is frequently required to lift and/or move 10 pounds and occasionally lift and/or move up to 50 pounds. Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, distance vision, depth perception and the ability to adjust focus.
• While performing the duties of this job the employee is subject to inside environmental conditions and regularly exposed to loud noise and may also have air and/or skin exposure to oils and other cutting fluids. Must wear steel-toe shoes/boots and other personal protective equipment such as hearing protection when required.
• The noise level in the environment is quiet to loud.
