Job Description:

43-5061 Production, Planning, and Expediting Clerks Coordinate and expedite the flow of work and materials within or between departments of an establishment according to production schedule. Duties include reviewing and distributing production, work, and shipment schedules; conferring with department supervisors to determine progress of work and completion dates; and compiling reports on progress of work, inventory levels, costs, and production problems.

Job Summary:

This position is responsible for planning, preparing, and issuing production schedules based on MRP and the flow of materials through the various areas to meet the requirements of customers as defined by Sales. Works with commodity buyer to verify availability of raw materials. Advise management on the status of work in progress, material availability, and potential production problems to ensure that personnel, equipment, materials and services are available and optimized. Measure and report on daily productivity and on time shipments. Ensure inventory and MRP system accuracy.

Surface Mount Technology

Powder Coating

Traffic

Shipping

Scheduling interface with Order Entry / Customer Service
Lead Time: Capacity vs order rate

Inventory Accuracy
Verifying machined part inventory counts are accurate
On time and Daily completions metrics reporting
Completes Internal Audits
Ensure that our production lines are running
Attend the daily production meetings at 8:30 AM
Coordinate with the general supervisors and departmental supervisors to ensure that they have what they need to perform their daily jobs.
Coordinate with Order Entry employee to ensure that Sage generates the schedule accurately for APS and Traffic orders.

Coordinate with Sales/Marketing to ensure that we are capable of meeting our customer expectations.
Coordinate with Engineering to ensure that we can plan ahead for the production departments.
Coordinate with the purchasing department to ensure that we have parts at least 3 weeks in advance.
Collect information from different departments to plan accurately.
Create a capacity model for all departments
Work with TA to schedule time for producing RMAs (Attend weekly RMA meeting on Monday at 3PM).

MS
Continue to collect and compare cycle times from Mills and ECs for use in scheduling MS
SS
Work with our Production Lead to collect information about times in the SS
PC
Use cycle time information to accurately schedule PC area
Collect information on how much powder coat we are using
Shipping
Collect information on how long orders are waiting for parts to be shipped
Work to reduce this time and create a better flow of parts.
Traffic
Collect information on how long it takes to assemble the different products in the area.
SMT
Collect information on how long it takes for SMT to produce the different boards needed for the weekly schedule
Work with supervisor and lead to schedule department and stay on track for monthly goal
Utilize Sage for all the daily tasks.
Secondary responsibilities:

Know the parts quantity that are on the shelves, ready to be used or powder coated
APS has a checklist that is filled out every day
We need something similar for the Traffic, SMT, and shipping areas
