The Idaho Manufacturing Alliance (IMA) is proud to announce it has received a grant from Capital Matrix to support its efforts in expanding membership outreach, specifically targeting small manufacturers located in rural Idaho communities.
Capital Matrix, a Boise-based nonprofit Certified Development Company, awarded the grant as part of its commitment to strengthening Idaho’s economic foundation through strategic investment and community impact. The funding will allow IMA to focus on identifying and engaging rural manufacturers who often operate with limited access to statewide resources and industry networks.
“This grant will allow us to more intentionally connect with rural manufacturers—many of whom are small but essential contributors to their local economies,” said IMA Executive Director Gina Robison. “By expanding our reach into these communities, we can provide critical support, foster collaboration, and ensure no part of Idaho’s manufacturing sector is left behind.
”Grant Objectives”. The Capital Matrix grant will support the following activities:
- Conduct targeted outreach to small and midsize manufacturers in Idaho’s rural regions
- Offer subsidized membership opportunities to lower the barrier to entry
- Host regional networking and training events tailored to rural challenges
- Expand IMA’s digital resource offerings for remote access by rural members
A Broader Impact
Idaho’s manufacturing industry contributes over $21.5 billion to the state economy and supports nearly 180,000 jobs. However, many rural manufacturers face challenges such as workforce shortages, supply chain limitations, and geographic isolation.
“Supporting mission-driven organizations like IMA helps ensure rural manufacturers are not just surviving but thriving,” said Ann Munroe, President of Community Investment at Capital Matrix. “This grant supports innovation and inclusivity in one of Idaho’s most vital industries.”
About Idaho Manufacturing Alliance
